Services Thursday for Jonathan Krein

Funeral services for former Forest City resident, Jonathan K. Krein of Fort Smith, Ark., will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday at Petersen Funeral home in Forest City.

The Rev. William Holzer, pastor of St. James Catholic church, will officiate.

Casket bearers will be Cliff Chase, Cletus Fruhwirth, Douglas Knapper, Dennis Peterson, Duane Peterson and Leon Peterson.

Burial will be in Madison Township cemetery.

Krein, 31, died May 13 at his home in Fort Smith.

Jonathan K. Krein, the son of Edward and Beverly Lewis Krein, was born Nov. 12, 1950, in Mandan, N. Dak. He grew up in North Dakota and came to the Forest City area in 1968.

He entered the U.S. Army April 2, 1970, served one year in Viet Nam, receiving his discharge Dec. 1, 1971.

Krein returned to Forest City where he was employed by Winnebago Industries until moving to Fort Smith, Ark., in 1980. In Fort Smith, he was employed as a machine operator at BJK Industries.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Krein of Round Rock, Texas; his grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Johnson of Selah, Wash.; 11 brothers and sisters. Mrs. Cletus (Vicki) Fruhwirth, Terry Krein, Richard Krein, Michael Krein, Mrs. Cliff (Judy) Chase and Joan Krein, all of Forest City, Roger Krein of Algona, David Krein and Lisa Krein of Round Rock, Texas. Mrs. James (Lauri) Richardson of Gulfport, Miss., and Mrs. Michael (Cherri) Panne of Fort Smith, Ark.
