Funeral services held for Grace Annie Katuin, 81, on May 19, 1995

Services for Grace Annie Katuin, 81, were held on Friday, May 19, 1995, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, Rev. David Daley officiated.

The organist was Marilyn DeKruyff. The congregational hymns were "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace." The ushers were Pete Eekhoff and Harold Assink.

The casket bearers were David Baker, Chad Fykstra, Bob Ahlrichs, Jon Bakker, Kevin Wynja and Rod Ahlrichs.

Interment was at the Amsterdam Township Cemetery.

The services were under the direction of the Ewing Funeral Home.

Grace A. Katuin, died on Tuesday, May 16, 1995, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City.

Grace was born on September 29, 1913, at Britt to George and Reka Blank Eenhuis. She attended country school between Britt and Kanawha. On June 18, 1935, she married Dick Katuin at the Christian Reformed Church parsonage in Kanawha. The couple made their home on a farm near Kanawha where she has lived the rest of her life. Grace loved being on the farm where she was a devoted wife and mother. She also enjoyed her grandchildren. She enjoyed being outside gardening and working with her flowers. She enjoyed animals, especially her dog, Patches. Grace was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Kanawha.

Survivors include her son, Donald Katuin, and his wife, Sharon, of Monticello; a sister, Elsie Abbas, of Goldfield; a daughter-in-law, Beth Menges of Clarion; a son-in-law, Dale Bakker, and his wife, Joyce, of Rock Valley; four grandchildren, Jon, David, Bob and Rod; one great-grandchild, Stephanie; one step-great-grandchild, Abbey; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Richard; a daughter, Nadine; and seven brothers, Fred, Frank, John, Alvin, George, Jr., Menno and Louis, her twin brother.
