Services for Curtis Ernest Jumpp, 81, of Crystal Lake, who died Friday, May 14, 1999, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Monday, May 17, 1:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, with Rev. Kenneth Suetterlin officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mabel Rensink who accompanied soloist, Bruce Wubben, and congregational hymns.

Active bearers were Roger Becker, Paul Fitzgerald, Stanley Hallett, Dennis Hagen, James Hobbs, and Jim Larson.

Interment was held at the Crystal Lake Cemetery where full military graveside rights were done by the Crystal Lake American Legion.

Curtis Ernest Jumpp, the son of Curtis E. and Mary Koontz Jumpp, was born December 7, 1917 in Indianapolis, IN. Curtis graduated from high school in Indianapolis and then worked for a short time before entering the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII.

Upon returning home he married Nodia Anderson on August 24, 1943, in Clinton. He was employed at a creamery in Walker at the time. In 1949, the family moved to Crystal Lake where he was employed at the Farmers Bank and Trust Company. In 1982, he retired from the Manufactures Bank and Trust.

Curtis was an avid fisherman. He also enjoyed traveling and learning the history of our country. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake, was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge and a member of the Shriners.

He is survived by his wife Nodia; his daughter Paula and her husband, Dwayne Streeter of Carmel, IN.; a grandson, Chad; two sisters in-law, Beulah Jumpp and Hazel Jumpp Corwin both of Indianapolis, IN., and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Hershel, Robert and Donald, and one sister, Gertrude.
