1924-1999

Services for Curtis Dean Jenson, 74, of rural Britt, who died Monday, Oct. 25, 1999 at his home near Crystal Lake, were held Thursday, Oct. 28, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake with Pastor Gary Marzolf officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mabel Rensink who accompanied soloist, Bruce Wubben. Ushers were Bruce Wubben and Larry Kunkel.

Curtis Dean Jenson, the son of Julius Jenson and Olga Larson Jenson was born December 27, 1924 in Crystal Township in Hancock County. Curtis attended school in Crystal Lake graduating in 1942.

September 19, 1945 he married Leona Alexander Jenson at the Crystal Lake Methodist Church in Crystal Lake. He then served in the U.S. Army in 1946. Curtis was involved in farming all his life and worked two years at Winnebago Industries in addition to farming.

He is survived by his wife. Leona Jenson; five children, one daughter, Rosalyn Smith and her husband, Marvin of Sioux City, their daughter Telene Betteher and her husband, Mike of Oshkosh. WI., two step grandsons, Lolane Smith and his wife, Debbie and their two children, Kayla and Jerod, and Dorin Smith and his wife Carrie and their two children, Shannen and Dorisa all of Des Moines; four sons, Mark Jenson and his wife, Liz of Gillette, WY, their daughter Karen and step son Peter Newhall of Texas: Kurt Jenson and special friend, Sybil Williams of West Yellow Stone, MT, his two daughters, Rebecca and Melanie of Aberdeen, WA, Bart Jenson and his wife, Teresa of Des Moines and their three children, Gregory, Nina and Louise; Kelly Jenson and his fiancee, Sheri Peck of Crystal Lake, and her three children, Nick, Jessie and Christopher; two sisters, Mavis Olin of Spencer and Carole Siepmann of Bettendorf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Richard Jenson and one foster brother Donald Jenson.
