Service held for lifelong resident

Funeral services for lifelong Forest City resident, Olive V. Hutson, were held Monday at Calvary Baptist church in Forest City. The Rev. Gerald Thurber officiated.

Richard Johnson was soloist and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, organist. Casket bearers were Dr. Dennis Buckley, Gene Buckley, Wayne Buckley, Darrell Buckley, Danny Buckley and Thomas Buckley.

Burial was in Madison Township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Hutson, 68, died Friday at a Mason City hospital after an illness.

Olive V. Hutson was born July 11, 1914, in Forest City to Samuel J. and Emma Martinson Olson. She received her education in the Forest City schools and was married to Richard W. Buckley Dec. 16, 1933. He died Oct. 19, 1964.

March 19, 1966, she was married to Russ Hutson. He died Dec. 18, 1981.

Mrs. Hutson worked in various capacities in the Forest City community but for several years was employed as a cook at the Forest City high school.

Mrs. Hutson was a member of Calvary Baptist church and active in her church circle.

Survivors include five sons, Dr. Dennis Buckley of Hamburg, Germany, Gene Buckley of St. Peter, Minn., Wayne Buckley of Omaha, Neb., Darrell Buckley of Hanover, Md., and Danny Buckley of Dunedin, Fla.; a step-son, Richard Hutson of Forest City; and two step-daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Sheryl) Johnson of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Charles (Glennis) Kriglstein of Sioux City.

Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Sweet of Aitkin, Minn., Mrs. Darold (Helen) Lindley of Albany, Oregon, and Mrs. Maurice (Evelyn) Knutson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a brother, Morris Olson, and a sister, Hazel Wilson.
