Services for Dorothy Holm, 75, of rural Garner, who died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1987 at her farm home northeast of Garner, were held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28 at Faith Lutheran Church in Miller with Rev. Emil C. Martinson as officiant.

Mrs. Ronald Anderson, organist, accompanied soloist, Warren Torkelson.

Casket bearers were Lester Anderson, Caroll Hall, Gaylord Berg, Merle Hall, Curtis Upmeyer and Roy Anderson.

Burial was in Ellington Prairie Cemetery northeast of Garner. Visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner.

Dorothy Alice Holm, the daughter of Adolph D. and Anna Melinda (Hall) Holm was born January 23, 1912 on a farm in Hancock County. She attended the rural schools of Concord Township.

Dorothy was a member of Ellington Prairie Lutheran Church and was a past secretary of the W.M.F. She had also served as church pianist and organist. After the physical loss of the church, she became a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Miller where she also belonged to A.L.C.W. and Faith & Hope Circle.

Dorothy was correspondent for the Garner Leader for over 25 years and for the Forest City Summit for 16 years.

She is survived by her brother, Gaylord Holm of rural Garner and her sister, Clara Holm also of rural Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt, Ingeborg Sunder, who will be remembered as "the mother in her life."
