Izora Hoeft rites conducted Monday

Funeral services for Mrs. Izora Hoeft of Forest City were conducted Monday afternoon at Forest City United Methodist church. The Rev. Carroll E. Robinson officiated.

Mrs. Vernon Peterson was soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Franklin Bienert, organist. Casket bearers were Richard Espeland, Edger C. Fox, Ronald L. Hanson, Harold Kobriger, Timothy Nelson and Wendell Riherd.

Burial was in Madison township cemetery with the Petersen Funeral home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hoeft, 72, died last Thursday at an Albert Lea hospital after an illness.

Izora M. Hoeft was born July 6, 1912, in Brandon to Charles and Edith Schultz. She was married to Harold G. Hoeft June 30, 1931, in Mason City. The Hoefts lived in the Forest City area their entire married life. Mr. Hoeft died June 12, 1981. For more than 25 years, Mrs. Hoeft operated Mrs. Hoeft's Shop in her home.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Lester (Delores) Welsh of Mason City, Mrs. Lewis (Beverly) Mayland of Britt, Dennis Hoeft, Jim Hoeft, Randy Hoeft and Mark Hoeft, all of Forest City; 16 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are five sisters, Mrs. James (Ina) Turnbull of Des Moines, Mrs. Evelyn Smith and Mrs. Wilma Lund of Coon Rapids, Minn., Mrs. Clara Voss of Ogilvie, Minn., and Mrs. Jack (Pat) Rogers of Aurora, Colo., and five brothers, Carl Schultz of Scarville, Carroll Schultz of Coon Rapids, Minn., Floyd Schultz of New Richland, Minn., Joe Schultz of Garner and Edward Schultz of Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Shirley May who died in infancy, and a brother, Charles Schultz.
