Gladys Hinders

Gladys Mary Hinders. 86, of Britt, passed away Sunday, February 5, 1995 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 8, 1995 at the Christian Reformed Church in Britt with Rev. Brent Wassink officiating. Music was provided by organist, Marilyn DeKruyff and a duet, Robert and Marvin Engh. Ushers were Harold Pommer and Ken VandenHoek.

Casketbearers were Jerry DeWaard, Herb Schreur, Harlan Eekhoff, Bill Eckels, David Padderud and Pete Lewerke. Interment was in Woden Christian Reformed Church Cemetery, Woden, Iowa. Services were under the direction of the Ewing Funeral Home.

Gladys was born December 3, 1908 in Kossuth County the daughter of John Albert and Laura Capp Seefeld. She made her profession of faith on May 7, 1933 at the Woden Christian Reformed Church.

She was united in marriage with Ben Hinders on February 25, 1933 at the Woden Christian Reformed Parsonage. They made their home on a farm near Wesley until 1957 when they moved to Britt.

Gladys was a member of the Woden Christian Reformed Church until 1957 when she became a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Britt. She was very active in the church, Ladies Aide, Sunday School and Catechism. She helped write the Britt Christian Reformed Church history.

She is survived by her husband. Ben; two daughters, Marlene Turner of Grand Rapids, MI: Mavis Jean and her husband, James of Grand Rapids, MI one sister. Margaret Seefeld of Britt: two brothers, Lelander Seefeld of Algona and Naaman Seefeld of Garner: one sister-in-law. Ann Seefeld of Britt. four grandchildren, Rod Turner and his wife. Kristina; Janice Marion and her husband, Joey; Janet Schreur and her husband, John; Daniel Christian and his wife, Sue: eight great-grandchildren, Sara Turner, Lara and Joshua Marion, Nathan and Jordan Ryckman. Nicholas. Amanda and Sari Christians.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, one son. Arllen Ben in 1995; one great grandson. David Marion. and one brother. Clarence.
