Rosetta Hejlik 1908 - 1994

Services for Rosetta Hejlik, 86, of Garner, who died Tuesday, March 22. 1994, at Concord Care Center in Garner, were held 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 25, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Garner with Rev. Fr. John Hemann as celebrant. Millie Young was lector.

Carolyn Kumsher, organist, accompanied the church choir. Ushers were Robert Kral and Elmer Urich.

Casket bearers were Jim Rygh, Rod Dodd, Laddie "Butch" Kozisek, Tim Hejlik, Jamie Johnson and Rick Corrick.

Burial was in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Garner. The visitation, Scriptural Wake Service and Rosary Society rosary were held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel.

Rosetta Margaret Hejlik, the daughter of John and Anna (Krall) Phillips, was born March 9, 1908 on a farm near Hayfield. The family moved to Winneshiek County where she attended school.

January 31, 1928, she married Anton George Hejlik at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville. They farmed and lived west of Garner all of their married life. Rosetta enjoyed her family, watching television, reading and working in her flower garden.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Rosary Society.

She is survived by her children, Harold Hejlik of Garner, Arthur Hejlik and his wife, Betty of Garner. Verne Hejlik and his wife, Delores of Garner and Marjorie Savage and her husband, DeVere "Bud" of Bloomfield; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; a step-greatgreat-granddaughter; and a sister, Agnes Kluwe of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton G. Hejlik August 15. 1963; an infant son, Donald Hejlik; her parents; a brother, Louis Phillips; three sisters, Mary Phillips, Anna Roesdahl and Jessie Hejlik, and a grandson-in-law, Richard Fisher.
