Henrietta Goodrich
1913-1988

Services for Henrietta Goodrich, 75, Kanawha, who died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1988, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held Saturday, Aug. 27, 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Kanawha with Rev. Judy Kitterman officiating.

Music was provided by organist, Mrs. Robert Smith, and soloist, Mrs. Charles Hartwig. Ushers were George Beukema and Verlyn Friedow.

Casket bearers were Marvin E. Johnson, Verlyn Olthoff, Robert Zeigler, Eugene Berhow, Jerry Olthoff, Larry Olthoff, Roger Olthoff, Wayne Berhow and Gary Johnson.

Burial was at the Amsterdam Township Cemetery at Kanawha with Ewing Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Henrietta "Etta" Goodrich, the daughter of Erick and Anna Eenhuis Olthoff, was born July 11, 1913 in Hancock County. She received her education in the country schools near Kanawha.

January 20, 1938, she married Earl B. Goodrich at Kanawha where the couple made their home. She was an original staff member of the Kanawha Nursing Home until her retirement in July of 1982. Etta's life centered around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her flower garden.

She was a member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Joyce and her husband, Ronald Paul of Iowa City, Jean and her husband, Jon Jenison of Belmond, Janice and her husband, Ronald Dempsey of Clear Lake; one son, Doyce and his wife, Sandra Goodrich of Kanawha; two sisters, Fannie and her husband, Elery Zeigler of Mason City and Elsie Berhow of Kanawha; two brothers, John and Erick Olthoff of Mason City; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, who passed away July 20, 1960; three brothers, Raymond, Fred and infant brother Erick; two sisters, Annie Johnson and Grace Hanson.
