Red Oak - Christine Smallfoot, 44, of Red Oak, formerly of Mason City, died Monday (July 8, 1996) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Omaha. Neb.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Zion United Church of Christ, Garner, with the Rev. Darrell Weber and the Rev. Sterling W. "Mac" McHarg officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Township Cemetery, Garner.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. Fourth St., Garner.
Cheistine Eve Smallfoot, the daughter of Harold Smallfoot and Marjorie (Greiman) Finn was born Nov. 17, 1951, at Forest City.
She attended school at Garner and graduated from Garner-Hayfield High School in 1970.
She then attended the University of Iowa where she graduated with a B.S degree in 1974 and continued her education at New York University where she graduated with a degree in physical therapy.
In 1975, she move to California where she worked as a physical therapist while attending Santa Clara University where she received her Juris Doctorate of Law Degree in 1984.
In 1985, she married Ray Kelley at Santa Clara. They moved to Mason City in 1986, where Chris continued to work as a physical therapist at North Iowa Mercy Health Center. She divorced in 1990.
In September of 1995, she moved her family to Red Oak where she worked at C.M.S. Therapies in the Red Oak area.
Chris enjoyed spending time with her children, whom she regularly took swimming, fishing and to the Omaha Zoo, where they were members.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, YMCA. both of Red Oak, and various professional organizations.
She is survived by her children, Emma, age 10; Nathan, age 8, and Grace Kelley, age 6, all at home; her mother, Marj Finn of Garner; father, Harold Smallfoot and his wife, Ocie, of Clear Lake; brothers and sisters, Landry Smallfoot and his wife, Rebecca, of Spokane, Wash.; Holly Rasmussen of Garner; Lambert Smallfoot and his special friend, Leslie Way, both of Des Moines; Dawn Smallfoot of Garner, and Gail Kuhlman and her husband, Kevin, of Garner; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Kathryn Kenyon and her husband, Richard, of Myersville, Md.; Jeanne Bonde and her husband, Larry, of Camanche; Thomas Finn and his wife, Jenny, of Jacksonville, Fla.; Barbara Reidel and her husband, David, of Rowan; Colleen Osborne and her husband, Allen, of Galt; John Finn and his wife, Cory, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and Daniel Finn and his wife, Sara, of Boone; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
