Funeral Services For Kermit Schlei Were Held At Klemme, Iowa
Funeral services for Kermit Schlei were held at the United Methodist Church, Klemme, Iowa on Monday, September 20, 1976.
Rev. Donald L. Campbell officiated the services. Organist was Mrs. Robert Schulz. Mrs. Russell Thorson and Mrs. Roy Arnold sang "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Near To The Heart of God."
Pallbearers were Eldon Hagen, Harlan Neuhring, Mercer Bruggeman, Stanton Brunes, Herbert Pearson and Edward Gooder.
Burial was in the Klemme Cemetery, Klemme, Iowa.
Kermit Schlei was born May 16, 1914 in Klemme, Iowa. He passed away September 17, 1976 at the Belmond Hospital.
He was the son of Henry and Flora (Schoenwetter) Schlei. He attended the rural school and helped at the home farm until graduation.
On May 14, 1941 he was married to Elsie Kjar of Rowan, Iowa. Together they farmed near Klemme his entire life.
Kermit was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, Elsie; two sons, Daryl and Susan of Elgin, Illinois; Duane and Scheryl of Estherville, Iowa and one granddaughter, Becky.
