Anita - Harry Arthur Pringnitz, 88, of Anita, formerly of the Clear Lake / Garner area, died Friday (April 8, 1994) at Colonial Manors in Anita.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ward-VanSlyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N, Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Robert Ellis of Garner Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell.
Visitation will begin at noon today at the Mullen Funeral Home in Anita, with the family receiving friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
There will be visitation from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Ward-VanSlyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the family receiving friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Harry Arthur Pringnitz was born on Aug. 19, 1905 at Kanawha, the son of Otto and Ida Olsen Pringnitz. He grew up in the area, where he attended Baily Grove country school. After his formal schooling, he started working on the farm.
On Dec. 31, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mabel Trumbell at the Methodist parsonage in Garner. They farmed in the area until 1962, when they moved to California for a time. They returned to the Clear Lake / Garner area where they lived until 1980. They then moved to Colonial Manors in Anita. Florence preceded him in death in 1980.
On May 4, 1983 he was united in marriage to Hazel Nagel at Adair. In 1986, they moved to Arizona until returning to Colonial Manors in 1988. Hazel preceded him in death in December of 1993. Harry had been a member of the Methodist Church in Klemme and Swaledale.
He is survived by two sons, Harry Pringnitz, Jr. and his wife, June of Urbandale, and Homer Pringnitz and his wife, Margaret of Anita; two daughters, Helen Schmock of Simi Valley, Calif., and Jacqulen Trca and her husband, Don of Garner; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Florence; his second wife, Hazel; three brothers, Fred, Ernie, and Bernard; and one sister, Ethel Krietlow.
