Peter Nelson was born in Denmark, June 4th 1841. He was married in that country to Anna Brandt, to which union were born three children, two sons and one daughter, all of whom are living. Mr. Nelson moved to Iowa in the spring of 1868, and on the 16th of March 1889, Mrs. Nelson passed on to her reward.

Later Mr. Nelson married Miss Mary Christensen, who now lives to mourn her loss. To them were born two sons, both of whom survive.

Twenty five years ago, Peter Nelson moved to Hancock County residing here for fifteen years when he moved to Missouri, after eleven years residence in that state, he made his home in Oklahoma, where he lived till death. He died at the age of 68 years, 4 mo., 10 days, leaving a wife, five children, two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Doty at the U.B. Church in Goodell last Sunday at 2:30 p.m., and burial at the cemetery east of town.

Peter Nelson, father of Mrs. John Ahrenkiel of this place and Wm. Nelson of Belmond, died at his home in Oklahoma, Wednesday, the funeral will be preached in Goodell, Sunday afternoon.
