Mrs. W. Nelson Age 75, Rites

Goodell - Mrs. John Ahrenkiel received word Thursday that her sister-in-law, Mrs. Wm. Nelson, age 75, had died Wednesday, Nov. 15th, following a long and serious illness.

Mrs. Nelson was born Blanche Farman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Farman, and lived with her parents in Goodell, where they once farmed and also owned and operated what is now the Ahrenkiel store. She was united in marriage to Wm. Nelson of Goodell, and they took up their home in the place now occupied by Walter Mason, as Mr. Nelson was then operator and owner of the local barber shop.

To this union was born one child, a son Bert. The family moved to Belmond many years ago, where they lived until a few years ago when they moved to Iowa City, to be near their son Bert, who was in business there. Mr. Nelson died while living in Iowa City, after which Mrs. Nelson moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she did practical nursing and made her home with her two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Wyand and Mrs. Mabel Goodenow.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nelson of Cedar Rapids, her two sisters mentioned, a brother Bert Farman of Seattle, Wash., several nephews and nieces in California, and in the vicinities of Belmond and Goodell.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church at Belmond, which church Mrs. Nelson so faithfully attended when living there, on Tuesday afternoon, with burial taking place in the family lot at Amsterdam cemetery, Goodell. Several from this community attended these services.
