C. A. Luick, 82, buried at Goodell
Goodell - Graveside funeral services for C. A. Luick, 82, were held Saturday at 4 p.m., in the Amsterdam Cemetery at Goodell. He died Wednesday morning at a nursing home in Clear Lake, following several months illness.
Charles Andrew Luick was born Nov. 3, 1883, at Modesta, Calif., a son of Lewis and Mary Luick. When young, the family moved to a farm at Belmond. He was married to Mable Brooks of Belmond, June 11, 1908. In 1912, they moved to a farm at Clear Lake, moving to town in 1925.
He worked for Jacob E. Decker and Sons Packing Plant 27 years, retiring in 1953. He was a past noble grand of the I.O.O.F. Lodge and a member of Modern Woodman of America.
Survivors are his wife; one son, Lee of Mason City; four brothers, Curtis, Albert and Henry of Belmond, and George of Grand Island, Neb.; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Farmer and Mrs. Luverne (Marion) Smith of Belmond; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
