In Memory of
Carl Jacob Kuch

Carl Jacob Kuch, the son of Wilhelm and Katherine (Hepperle) Kuch was born December 2, 1905 at Neidlingen, Germany. He obtained his education in Germany, became a wagon-maker and also received his apprenticeship certificate in woodworking.

At the age of seventeen he left his family and sailed to America, where he worked for various farmers in the Crystal Lake and Britt area. July 8, 1934, he married Loretta Ellen Whiitehurst at her parents home in Garner. The farmed in Winnebago and Hancock Counties until 1963,when they retired from active farming. In November of 1963, they moved to Melbourne, Florida. In June of 1964, they returned to Britt where Carl worked as a carpenter. He then worked for Marting Manufacturing from 1965 until he retired in the early 1980's. He was devoted to his family and church. He enjoyed reading, walking, music and woodworking.

He was a member of the Upper Flat Evangelical Free Church where he had served as a Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School teacher, choir member and janitor. He was presently attending the Evangelical Free Church in Britt.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Ellen Kuch of Britt; his daughter, Darlene Swanson and her husband, Ronald "Babe" of Forest City; his son, Donald Kuch and his wife, Matilda "Tillie", of Olmsted Falls, Ohio; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Wild of Kirchkeim, Germany and Marie Ernst of Ohmden, Germany; a good friend and classmate, Wilhelm Holder and his wife, Verna, of Waterloo; a nephew, Delbert Richardson of Forest City; a second cousin, Calvin Voight; several nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sophie Kuch.
