Special to Garner Leader and Signal:

The Goodell community was deeply saddened Friday when Fred Fulton of Belmond brought the news that Phyllis Christenson Harris, age 29, had passed away at her home at Oxnard Calif.,Wednesday night Oct. 28, following a long illness. The body is being brought via train to Iowa and funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the E.U.B. church with the pastor, the Rev. Park E. Miller officiating. Burial will take place in Amsterdam cemetery.

Phyllis Mary Christenson, youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Christenson was born on the Christenson home farm half mile east of Goodell, on August 29, 1924. She grew to young womanhood here and attended the Goodell school. About ten years ago she moved with her parents to Cicero, Ill., where she was doing clerical work when her health permitted. About two years ago she joined her sister, Iris, in California, with hopes that the climate would benefit her. It was there she met and married Wm. Harris, who survives her. Besides her husband, she is survived by her parent, three sisters, Mrs. Rudy Malek (Marjorie) of Cicero, Ill.; Mrs. Wm. Johnson (Iris) of Oxnard, Calif,; and Mrs. Percy Brown (Beverly) of Thompson. An only brother Stanley, died in a prison camp in the Philippines during World War 2 and his burial also took place in the local cemetery a few years ago.
