Harold Griggs Burial In Goodell
Services for Harold Griggs, 66, of Garner, who died Tuesday, at Mercy Hospital in Mason City, were held 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the Bohn-Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Garner with burial in Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Goodell.
Pastor David Dunn of Belmond officiated. Organist and soloist was Beverly Cataldo. Casket bearers were: Paul Bode, Nate Pals, Ralph Bode, Alvin Bachman, Elmer Bachman and Eugene Bachman.
Harold Irwin Griggs, the son of George and Martha (Bachman) Griggs, was born April 20, 1911 on a farm southeast of Klemme. He was raised on a farm and attended the rural schools in Avery Township. He also attended the United Brethren Church in Goodell.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Rees (Shirley) Lockwood of Nora Springs; two brothers, Presley Griggs and his wife, Alma, of Manly, Audrey Griggs and his wife, Thelma, of Klemme; and two nieces, Lois Griggs of Sheridan, Wyoming and Mrs. Thomas (Loretta) Hill of Mason City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 infant brothers.
