Mads Gram dies; once Goodellian

Burial rites were conducted Monday at Amsterdam cemetery, Goodell, for Mads Christ Gram, who was a resident of that community during his early boyhood. He died Friday of last week at Frederic, Wis., at the age of 69. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Zion Lutheran church, Trade Lake, Wis.

Rev. Forest Lay of the Goodell EUB church officiated over the graveside ceremonies. Fulton Funeral Home was in charge.

Born March 20, 1891, at New Hartford, Ia., Mr. Gram was the son of Jacob B. and Metta Skow Gram. During his younger years, the family lived at Goodell and later at Cedar Falls. On June 30, 1911, he wed Elizabeth "Bessie" Gee at Garner. They would have reached their Golden Wedding anniversary this year.

Mr. Gram was a mechanic by trade and operated garages at Klemme and at Nora Springs. He was also employed as a mechanic for a time by the Viking Pump company of Cedar Falls.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by four brothers - Bert of Rowan, Harry of North Cedar, Clarence of Waterloo and Jessie of Cedar Falls; and one sister, Mrs. Carolyn Brown of Mifflinville, Pa.
