Graveside Rites For Jake Gram at Goodell
Goodell (special) Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gram of Cedar Falls cam to Goodell Thursday to make arrangements for funeral services for his father, Jake B. Gram.
Funeral services for Jake B. Gram were held at the Nelson Funeral home at Cedar Falls Monday morning at 10:30 with the Rev. Halger Neilsen of the Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. They then came to Goodell where graveside services were held at the family lot at Amsterdam cemetery at 2 o'clock that afternoon, where burial took place.
Mr. Gram was born in Denmark, Nov 18th, 1867, and died Nov. 13th, 1957, being laid to rest on his 90th birthday. He came to America at the early age of 15 years, and was united in marriage to Katrene Skow in 1888, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mads Skow of Goodell. They made their home in this community for many years, farming on the T. R. Burgess farm. In 1913 the Gram family moved to Minnesota where they engaged in farming, living there about 12 years. They then moved to Cedar Falls which had since been their home. Mrs. Gram passed away 17 years ago.
Mr. Gram with his son, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Gram continued to make his home at Cedar Falls until 1 1/2 years ago when he went to live with his only daughter, Mrs. Floyd Brown at Miffenville, Pennsylvania, where he passed away.
One son, Alfred the eldest of their children preceded him in death. Left to mourn his passing are five sons and one daughter, Chris Gram of Frederick, Wis,; Bert Gram of Rowen; Harry Gram of North Cedar; Mrs. Floyd (Caroline) Brown of Miffenville, Penn.; Clarence Gram of Waterloo and Jesse Gram of Cedar Falls. Surviving also are several grandchildren.
The daughter, Mrs. Floyd Brown and her daughter, Mrs. Celeste Lupini accompanied the body to Cedar Falls for services.
