Mrs. Eldred dies; funeral Wednesday
Clear Lake - Mrs. Sumner E. (Ina M.) Eldred, 99, 15 S. 9th St., died Sunday afternoon at a Clear Lake nursing home where she had been the last six years.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home with the Rev. Worthie K. Usher, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Following cremation, the interment will be at a later date at Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eldred was born Oct 21, 1871, on a farm near Goodell, the daughter of Thomas A. and Harriet (Morley) Wheelock. Following the death of her parents when she was 15 years old, she received her education at the Sisters of Mercy Convent in Cedar Rapids and later attended Upper Iowa University, Fayette.
She was married to Sumner E. Eldred in 1890 and they lived on the farm near Goodell which her father had purchased on his return from the Civil War.
In 1903 the family moved to Clear Lake where she had since made her home. Mr. Eldred died in 1924.
Mrs. Elrdred is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George A. Hood, Hinsdale, Ill,; Mrs. Charles S. Abbott, Clear Lake; and Mrs. Raymond Bradbury, Downers Grove, Ill.; two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons and one sister.
She was a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans.

Committal services for Mrs. Ina Eldred
Clear Lake - Committal services for Mrs. S. E. (Ina) Eldred, 99, were held Monday, May 31, at Amsterdam cemetery near Goodell. The Rev. Arthur Krebs, Anaheim, Calif., officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Eldred died March 21st.
Mrs. Eldred's three daughters, Mrs. George Hood, Hinsdale, Ill.; Mrs. Ray Bradbury, Downer's Grove, Ill., and Mrs. Lurline Abbott; and grandchildren, Mrs. Robert Kealy and five children, Oconomowoc, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. David Hood and daughter, Hinsdale, Ill., and other relatives attended.
