***********************************************

On July the 20th, Mr. Adam Eisman [Eisenman], of Bingham township, four miles west of this lake was instantly killed by lightning and the stack set on fire at half past four P.M. He was stacking hay when the bolt struck him on the back part of his head near the base of the brain.

His twin sons were pitching hay on the stack. One was on the stack. One was knocked senseless and the other was thrown on his knees. He soon recovered and secured his father from the burning stack and removed his clothing which was on fire. The other boy had one arm and leg partially paralyzed and it was some time before he came to his senses, but he is all right now.

Mr. E. leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his loss. All sympathies with the family in their sudden and terrible affliction.

The remains were laid in the Crystal township cemetery, Rev. F. J.McCaffrey conducting the funeral service.
