Funeral Services Sunday P.M., June 30. Interment In Amsterdam Cemetery
Harry Anderson passed away at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Andrew Anderson in Garner, Thursday evening, June 27, at about 8 o'clock.
The above paragraph will bring sadness to many hearts. Harry was born in Twin Lake township, July 17, 1914, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Anderson. When a child of but five years his mother passed away and he came to Garner to make his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Anderson. He entered the first grade of the Garner schools and continued a student in our schools until he completed his high school work in the class of 1932.
At an early age Harry developed a heart ailment but in later years it appeared the trouble had yielded and for the past three years, or since his graduation, he has been with his father on the farm northwest of Goodell. Several months ago he contracted flu and this disease brought back his old ailment. Feeling in need of rest, he came to the home of his grandmother a few weeks ago, and it was there he passed away.
Harry Anderson was a young man of good habits and popular with the older set as well as with his young associates.
In a previous paragraph we spoke of the death of Harry's mother. Her passing dates back 16 years. Ten years ago his father married Mary Goodrich. The first Mrs. Anderson and mother of Harry, was Loraine Sandry. Surviving relatives are his parents, grandparents, three brothers and three sisters. The sisters are Mary, who lives with her grandmother, Mrs. A. Anderson, in Garner; Loretta and Marion Lou with their parents upon the farm in Twin Lake township. The brothers, Clifford, Harvey and Leonard, all with their parents.
There was a short funeral service at the home of Mrs. Andrew Anderson in Garner, Sunday afternoon, June 30, at 3:45. The body was then taken to the U.B. church, Goodell, where a public funeral service was held at 4:15 o'clock. Interment was in Amsterdam cemetery beside his mother and a brother who died in infancy. The Rev. Harry Herlien, pastor of the Goodell congregation, was in charge of all funeral services.
