Aged Resident Of Garner Dies

E. F. Bowker, 83, Was Ill Week - Rites Thursday

Garner - E. F. Bowker, 83, died Monday evening at his home here. He had not been well for 3 years and about a week ago became seriously ill.

Elliott Francis Bowker, son of Samuel and Rose Bowker, was born Nov. 10, 1861, at Fritzwilliam, N. H. The family came west in 1874, pioneers of Hancock county and settled at Crystal Lake on the old Herman Kluver homestead.

Mr. Bowker and Ella Burdick were married April 5, 1895, almost 50 years ago, moving to Britt, farming north of that place. After retiring from the farm they lived in Britt. The last position Mr. Bowker held in Britt was janitor of the school. About 3 years ago the family moved to Garner.

Surviving are the widow and 2 children, Mrs. C. H. Downs of Titonka and Miss Edna Bowker of Minot, N. Dak.; a sister, Mrs. Charles Almy of Surrey, N. Dak., and 2 grandchildren.

The funeral was to be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Bohn funeral home with the Rev. E. F. Broberg officiating. Burial was to be in Evergreen cemetery at Britt.
