Britt Man Is Fatally Hurt

Whittemore - Harold Boothroyd, 26, of Britt died at a Whittemore hospital Wednesday night of injuries suffered when the truck he was driving collided with a car driven by Everett Bylden, 23, of Lakeville, Minn., three miles east of Whittemore at p.m. Wednesday.

Boothroyd was driving a candy truck and Bylden, an oil salesman, a car, when the collision occurred. The truck and cart collided, the car going into a ditch, and turning completely around. The left front wheel of the truck was in the rear seat of the car, which was demolished.

Boothroyd is survived by his mother, Mrs. Howard Chapman of Britt, his wife, and a brother, Edwin, of Britt. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wigton-Russ funeral home.

Bylden suffered a dislocated shoulder, and a deep gash on his upper lip. He was taken to Algona where he was given medical treatment, and then returned home.
