Kanawha Boy Reported Killed
Sanford Severson, son of Severt Severson, residing northeast of town, has undoubtedly fallen in battle on the western front somewhere in France, as a letter received this week by Miss Ada Jordanger contained a note from the captain of the company in which he stated that Sam was killed in action and the letter was found in his pocket and he took the liberty of forwarding it to her. No details of how he was killed were given and up to this time no official notice has been received hence there is a possibility of a mistake.
Relatives and friends are anxiously awaiting further news and in their suspense are hoping that there is a mistake and that Sam is still with the living.
Sam has been in the service in France for some time and has no doubt seen considerable real warfare. - Kanawha Reporter
