Mrs. Papadakes rites Saturday at Britt church

BRITT: Mrs. Constantine (Gus) Papadakes, 61, died of cancer Thursday at the Hancock Memorial Hospital.

Dionesia Papanastasiou, daughter of Nicholas and Tassie Valasis Papanastasiou, was born Feb. 10, 1900, in Olympia, Greece. She was married in Fort Dodge Jan 4, 1952, to Constantine Papadakes. They came to Britt where they owned and operated the Candy Kitchen with Mr. and Mrs. George Papadakes.

Mrs. Papadakes was a member of the Transfiguration Eastern Orthodox Church, Mason City; several church societies, Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, Kings and Daughters and the Britt Woman's Club.

Surviving are three brothers and a sister, Tony Papanastasiou, Milwaukee; George and Ernest, both of Spokane, Wash.; and Mrs. Athena Athanasoulias, Greece.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Methodist Church here. The Rev Andrew Georgaroudakis, Mason City will conduct the Greek service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery here with Boughton Funneral Home in charge.
