Lawrence Spieker

BRITT — Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Britt for Lawrence H. Spieker, 62, who died Saturday in a Mason City hospital.

Mr. Spieker was an Army veteran of World War II, taking part in the battle of Iowa Jima, and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He also was president of Hancock County National Farmers Organization.

The Rev. Howard Eldrenkamp will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Boughton Funeral Home is in charge.

Mr. Spieker is survived by his wife, Hattie; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Richey, Britt; three sons, Dennis, Hayfield; Ronald, Garner, and Larry, at home; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Hillenga, Algona; Mrs. Mary Lasshan, Britt. and Mrs. Frank (Mabel) Johnson, Britt, and a brother, Jerry, Forsyth, Mont.
