Mrs. Christina Lilja, Britt Pioneer, Dies

Britt - Mrs. Christina Lilja, 89, Britt pioneer, dies Friday after a lingering illness which kept her bed fast for the past six years.

Mrs. Lilja was born Feb. 22, 1854, in Sweden. She came to this country in May 1881.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. S. K. Wright, of Britt; Charlie Benson of Omak, Wash., and Joe Benson of Kearney, Nebr.

Funeral arrangements in charge of Wigton's Funeral home are incomplete, pending arrival of relatives.

Conduct Service for Mrs. Christina Lilja

Britt - Funeral services for Mrs. Christina Lilja, 88, were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wigton funeral home and 2:30 o'clock at the Bethel Baptist church with the Rev. B. A. Rust in charge. Burial was in Britt Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Lilja was born Feb 22, 1854, in Sweden. She came to America in May 1881.

Surviving are three children, Mrs. S. K. Wright, with whom she made her home; Charlie Benson of Omak, Wash., and Joe Benson of Kearney, Nebr., and one brother, Jacob Swanson, of Britt.
