Virgil (Buck) C. Stille, 81, of Garner, died Thursday, October 17, 2002, at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit in Britt.

Virgil, son of J. J. and Clara (Gast) Stille, was born on November 20, 1920, on the family farm in Liberty Township west of Klemme where he lived his entire life. He attended school in Liberty Township and graduated from Klemme High School in 1939.

On November 28, 1942, he was united in marriage to Grace Ruter. They retired from farming in 1985, and spent the last 25 years wintering in Weslaco, Texas. They also made several trips to Mississippi and Kentucky with the County Cousins.
Buck enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing games, and having coffee with his friends. He was devoted to his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a long time member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church where he served on the council for several years.

Virgil will be sadly missed by his wife, Grace Stille, Garner; his three children, Donna Schoenwetter and her husband, Dennis, of Forest City, Cindy Hubers and her husband, Tim, of Shoreview, Minnesota, and Randy and his wife, Donna, of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota. He has five grandchildren, Dawn Heusinkveld and her husband, Bruce, of Britt, Kristi Wynja and
her husband, Brad, of Fishers, Indiana, Dan Hubers of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Libby and Quentin Stille of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota; and three great-grandchildren, Brooke Heusinkveld and Hayden and Grace Wynja. Also surviving are two sisters and one brother, Fern Carlson, of Clear Lake, Lucille Bridges and her husband, Cecil, of Thornton, George and his wife, Ina, of Garner and a sister-in-law, Minnie Stille of Clear Lake. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Quentin and Kermit; and one sister, Gertrude Beier.

Friends and relatives are invited to the church basement for lunch immediately following funeral service
