OBITUARY

Retta May, daughter of James and Louisa Chandler, was born in Daviess County, Indiana, May 13, 1885. At about the age of sixteen she was united with the Baptist church, and since that time has always been a devout member of that faith. In 1912 she moved with her father, three brothers and two sisters to Jewell, Iowa, where she has since retained her residence.

She departed this life July 11, 1922. There have already preceded her to the Great Beyond, her mother, who departed this life eighteen years ago, one sister, Cora F., and three brothers, Claude, Robert L. and Oliver M. There still survive to mourn her loss, the father, four brothers, Isaac W., and James E., both of Jewell, Iowa, John A., of St. Louis, Mo., and Jesse of Collinsville, Ill., and two sisters, Martha E. and Mrs. Nelius Olson, both of whom are residents of this place, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Brief funeral services held at the residence, were conducted by the Rev. G. A. McKindley, of the Federated Church of Jewell. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
