Mrs. A. Visborg Passes Away
Saturday morning, October 11th, Mrs. A. Visborg, quietly passed away at her home southwest of Jewell, death resulting from dropsy, from which she had suffered for about a year past. Funeral services were held yesterday at eleven o'clock from the home and at two o'clock from the Christian church in Jewell; Mr. Lars C. Hansen, of West Branch, Cedar county, Iowa, pronouncing the words of comfort and hope to the sorrowing family and friends. The body was laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
Albertine Visborg was born in Denmark June 15th, 1845, and died at Jewell October 11th, 1913, at the age of 68 years, 3 months, and 26 days. In 1872 she came to America, locating in Chicago. In 1875 she was married at Chicago to Mr. Anders Visborg, to which union five children were born. The youngest son died at the age of 14, the others and the husband still surviving. The surviving children are Adolph F., who now lives in Montana and who was unable to reach Jewell in time for burial services, Mrs. Louisa Knudson, of Jewell, Mrs. E. C. Green, of Jewell, and Albert Visborg, of Jewell. Shortly after her marriage the deceased with her husband moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, living for a time near Randall and since on the farm near Jewell. The family is one of the pioneer families of this community and have hosts of friends in the vicinity. The bereaved husband and children have the deep sympathy of everybody in this community in their hour of loss.
Among those from a distance who were here in attendance at the funeral yesterday were Mr. and Mrs. Lars C. Hanson, Mr. Peter Peterson, and Mr. Peter Anderson, all of Cedar county, Iowa, and all old friends and neighbors.
