ANOTHER HUNTING TRAGEDY IN THIS COMMUNITY
This community was shocked and horrified Sunday night to learn of a second hunting tragedy of this fall, when Albert Visborg was accidentally killed by a shotgun wound when out hunting rabbits the previous day.
Visborg, who has been making his home with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Knudson, of near Rose Grove, left the house Sunday forenoon with his single barreled shotgun to shoot rabbits. He did not return during the day but that fact gave no cause for anxiety as it was supposed he had gone on to a neighbors for the afternoon, but evening came and he still had not returned, Mr. knudson became worried and phoned around to several of the neighbors inquiring of him. Finally, accompanied by Enosh Wallace and Chas. Barkhuff, Knudson started out in search of Visborg, and the men soon found his dead body, not over forty rods from home, killed by a shot gun wound in the upper part of the head, and with his gun lying upon his dead body.
A coroner's inquest was held Monday forenoon at the Fleenor undertaking parlors, conducted by Coroner Foster of Webster City. Bert Reade, L. C. Baldus and H. G. Peterson served as jurors, and from all the evidence given, they occurred a verdict that his death was accidental.
Albert Visborg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrus Visborg, was born on the farm southwest of Jewell, June 16, 1883, and lived in this community all of his life. He was unmarried and is survived by his father, who now lives at West Branch, Iowa, and by three sisters, Mrs. Otto Knudson, Mrs. E. C. Green, and Mrs. Chas House, all of this community, and one brother, Adolph Visborg, living near Plevna, Montana. He passed away on November 13th, 1921, aged 38 years, 4 months, and 27 days. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, from the Federated church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. A. McKinley, and interment was made in Evergreen cemetery.
Albert Visborg was held in highest esteem by all in this community as a worthy, upright young man, and his tragical and untimely death is deeply regretted by all.
