HELEN MILLETT DIED TUESDAY MORNING
This entire community was inexpressibly grieved to learn of the death of Miss Helen Millett, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. S. Millett, which occurred at 4:30 o'clock Tuesday morning of this week. Helen had been sick since six weeks ago today, pericarditis causing her death. She had been given the best possible medical attention and was apparently improved until last Saturday when, due to weakened condition of her heart, she began to fall. Her sister, Esther, and aunt, Lela, were summoned home, both arriving here Monday evening.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock this Thursday afternoon from the home, Rev. McKinley, pastor of the Federated church officiating. The body will lie in state from 10:00 o'clock until 1:00 o'clock today and the casket will not be opened at the services. Interment will be made in Evergreen cemetery here. The pall bearers will be boys of the senior and junior classes of the high school, Vernon Sickenger, Yorke Johnson, Elmer Erickson, Palmer Erickson, Kermit Christensen, and Lowell Baldus.
Helen Ione Millett was born June 16m 1904, and passed away March 1, 1921, aged 16 years, 8 months and 15 days. She was baptized at Orion, Ill., when four months old, and three years ago she united with the Congregational church where she has always been a faithful attendant. She was a member of the junior class of the high school, popular with her schoolmates and teachers, and always active in class and school activities. Helen was beloved by all for her cheery, glad-hearted disposition and she ill be sadly missed by a host of friends. The sincere sympathy of all in this community goes out to the bereaved parents and family.
Among those from a distance who are here to attend the funeral service today are Mrs. C. G. Samuelson, of Orion, Ill., and Mr. A. C. Johnson, of Rock Island, Ill., a sister and a brother of Mrs. Millett; and Mr. Millett's sister, Mrs. E. J. Sperling and her husband, of Omaha.
