DEATH OF MRS. E. P. EDWARDS

Mrs. E. P. Edwards who was taken to the sanitarium at Nevada about a week ago, passed away there Saturday night.

Grace E. Whitbeck, daughter of A. and Hester Ann Whitbeck, was born at Chenango Forks, New York, October 9, 1849. She received her education in the schools there and was a faithful member of the Episcopalian Church. On January 1, 1867, she was united in marriage to Mr. E. P. Edwards, at Chenango Forks, N. Y., and to him a son and a daughter were born, both of whom survive their mother. They are G. L. Edwards, of Blairstown, Iowa, and Mrs. C. A. Clark, of Sterling, Illinois. Mrs. Edwards is also survived by her husband and a sister, Mrs. R. H. Aishton, of Evanston, Illinois.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards had lived at Toledo, Tama, Algona and Webster City, before moving to Jewell. They came here to make their home in 1906, but had had business interests here previous to that time.

For the past eighteen years Mrs. Edwards had suffered a great deal with Neuritus, and she was taken to Nevada, with the hope of relieving her suffering. She passed away there Saturday evening at 9:15, November 5.

Funeral services were held at the home here, on Monday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. A. McKinley, pastor of the Federated Church. Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery. The pall bearers were W. S. Allen, Howard Smith, J. S. Smith, F. G. Snyder, M. H. Porter and C. J. Christensen.

The entire community joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones.
