OBITUARY.
On last Tuesday, Feb. 5, Mrs. Batchelor, the aged mother of Mrs. J. R. King, Mrs. J. H. Millett and Alex Batchelor of this place, passed peacefully away at the ripe age of 80 years. As previously mentioned she sustained a severe injury about two months ago, by falling from a chair the effects of which was the immediate cause of her death, she never being able to leave her bed since.
Jane Hay was a native of Scotland and was married there in 1848 to Wm. Batchelor. Eight children were born to them, six of whom are living, William, James, George, Alexander, Mrs. J. H. Millett and Mrs. J. R. King, all living in America except William who still resides in Scotland.
Mrs. Batchelor joined the Presbyterian church in Scotland sixty-two years ago and has ever since lived a devout christian life and was willing and anxious to leave this world of pain and sorrow for the new life beyond into which she had full confidence of entering. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Faus on Wednesday at the home of Mrs. King and thee remains tenderly laid to rest beside those of her husband with whom she so dearly loved in life.
