PIONEER LAID TO REST

The Last Summons Comes to Evan Dyvig

Evan Dyvig died at his home, 10 1/2 miles northwest of Story City, Tuesday, March 3, and was buried from the church north of Rosendale Sunday forenoon. Deceased was 69 years old and leaves a wife and six children (3 boys and 3 girls) to mourn his death. He had not been well for several years, though he was able to be around, and became seriously ill only a week before he died.

He was one of the pioneers in this part of the country and had a host of friends and acquaintances, who had learned to know him as a man of integrity and honor.

He was born in Norway, but came to this country as a young man, being married here and raising his family on the old homestead northwest of town. Through industry and thrift he came into possession of considerable property and was numbered among the well-to-do farmers of his neighborhood.
