Obituary of Richard Larson

Richard Larson was born at Randall, Iowa, July 6th, 1894, and passed away April 25, 1933, being 38 years old. He was a home loving man and spent all his life-time in this community.

June 1, 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Melvina Olson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Olson (Boe). To this union were born two children, Frederick, now 15 years old, and Pauline, 6 years old.

Mr. Larson was stricken with pains in his head on Sunday evening. This appeared to have developed quickly into a hemorrhage of the brain, resulting in his death 48 hours later.

Mr. Larson was a kind husband, father, brother and friend. His highest aim was to lead a Christian life in his home and community. He was an active church worker. No one expected that this useful young man would be taken away so quickly.

The roomy church could not hold the large audience present who cam to pay respect to thi fine young man. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the home and at 2 o'clock at Elim Lutheran church. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiated. Song by S. M. Teigland, Ole Sopeland, J. H. Brekken and A. C. Anderson; duet by Bertha Tjernagel and Ole Sopeland; duet by Mrs. Benj. Anderson and Truman Quam; solo by Mrs. Lester Henderson of Story City. The floral offerings were beautiful; also $27 were given by his friends to missions.

He leaves to mourn his departure his wife, two children, one sister, Mrs. J. S. Jacobson and four brothers, John, Thomas, Alfred and Clarence, all of Randall. The four brothers and two of Mrs. Larson's brothers acted as pall bearers. Interment was made in Mt. Olive cemetery.
