MAN FOUND DEAD IN BLAIRSBURG HOME

Knofel Harvey, 31, was found dead in his farm home near Blairsburg shortly before noon Monday and to all indications had ended his own life. Close to the body was a gun.

Harvey was last seen about his farm Saturday. No one thought much about it Sunday when he did not make an appearance anywhere. However, his pigs broke out early Monday and were noticed first by a neighbor.

Wondering what could have happened, the neighbor went to the Harvey place and found a team hitched and standing in the barn. He looked and saw Harvey's body on the floor.

Friends of Harvey said he had been brooding over his wife's illness, she having been taken to the state hospital at Cherokee for treatment last June. There were no children.
