OBITUARY OF BARNEY PETERSON [SIC]

Barney Peterson [sic] was born Nov. 15, 1851, in Hardanger, Norway, and passed away June 24, 1931, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Mortvedt, near Radcliffe, at the age of 79 yeas, 7 months and 9 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the age of 12 years he immigrated to America with his parents and settled near Lee, Ill., where he grew to manhood.

In 1876 he was united in marriage to Rachel Christopher, and to this union were born eight children, six of whom are living, and two died in their youth.

Those living are, Mrs. Martha Welland of Radcliffe, Chris of Rock Island, Ill, Bennie of Story City, Mrs. Sarah Wicks of Roland, and Mrs. Agnes Mortvedt of Radcliffe. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; also one sister, Miss Guri Pederson of Lee, Ill. One brother and three sisters preceded him in death.

In 1882 he with his family moved to a farm southwest of Radcliffe. In the year 1915, he with his wife moved to Radcliffe where they resided until the death of Mrs. Pederson in 1919. He has since made his home with his son, Lewis, on the farm.
