Obituary of Elizabeth Randau

Miss Elizabeth M. Randau was born a half mile northwest of Randall, Iowa, August 11, 1878. She was baptized the same year, and she passed away at Nevada, Iowa, Feb. 2, 1931. She was at the time of her death 52 years and 7 months old.

The days of her childhood and youth were spent on the Rando homestead near Randall. For some time she worked at the Children's Home in Beresford, S. D., but most of her life time was spent in Randall and Story.

As she was never in very good health, she could not work all the time. When she had to rest she found a good home with her relatives and friends. Her last place of worth was with the Hatteberg Bros., 10 miles southeast of Randall, where Rev. G. O. Paulsrud visited her a few days before she died, and she expressed the wish and prayer that she would get to go home to her Lord, whom she loved and served. Her wish and prayers were soon fulfilled, and we are sure that she is among the saved ones now.

Her nearest relatives are three half-sisters, Mrs. Julia Larson of Jewell, Mrs. Elmer Johnson and Mrs. Gaylord Hendrickson of Randall.

A short service was held at the funeral home in Nevada, Feb. 5, and at the Elim Lutheran church in Randall at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. A quartet, Rev. Paulsrud, S. M. Teigland, Mrs. P. G. Pederson and Mrs. Clarence Larson, sang at the funeral. The pall bearers were the five Larson brothers, John, Thomas, Alfred, Clarence and Richard, and T. M. Larson. There were many present at the funeral services and the casket was draped with lovely flowers. Burial was made in the Mount Olive cemetery north of Randall.
