PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY

Kari Madsen Died at Old People's Home Last Saturday

Miss Kari Madsen died very suddenly on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 18, 1920. She was born July 3rd, 1936, in Norway and came to this country 27 years ago. She was admitted to the Old People's Home. Nov. 21, 1916, where she died at the age of 84 years.

She was a devout Christian and tried to live according to her confession. She often mentioned that she wished God would bless her, in permitting her to depart from this life before she became much of a burden to others. She died as she had lived, contented, and never complaining about anything. She died, so to speak, in the arms of both the matron and superintendent, as she conversed with them. There was no death agony, she simply closed her eyes.

Funeral services were held at the Old People's Home on Monday, Dec. 20th, at one o'clock, by Rev. Dolven, and in Jewell by Rev. H. Oppedal, where the burial took place.

Her brother Albert Madsen lives in Story City.
