OBITUARY

Edein Swenson (Reveland)

Edwin Swenson Reveland was born at Aardal, Norway, June 9, 1838, his parents being Sven and Anna Riveland.

In 1866 he was married to Martha Olsdatter Reveland, and three years later, in 1869, they immigrated to America, settling at Lisbon, Ill. In 1872 he moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, where he made his home on a farm until about 19 years ago, when he and his wife moved to Story City, where they have lived ever since.

Death came to him very quietly at his home in Story City on Sunday, Feb. 26, 1922, and he passed to his reward at the high age of 83 years, 8 months and 17 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife and six children. Four children have preceded him to the better land. The surviving children are: Ole Swenson of Story City; Sven Swenson of Jewell; Mrs. Sam Jacobson of Story City; and Martin, Annas and Oskar Swenson of Ellsworth. He is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Mr. Swenson had earned the respect of all who had come to know him in the many years of his residence here, and his death brings a real loss to the community as well as to his immediate family.
