MRS. SVEN HANSON [SIC]

Mrs. Matilda Hanson [sic] died at her home in Stanhope Monday, following a stroke of paralysis. She had been in failing health since May 2.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Saviour's Lutheran church, Stanhope, preceded by a brief service at the home at 1:30. Rev. O. C. Monson was in charge, and burial was made in Lawn Hill Cemetery.

Augusta Matilda Anderson, the daughter of Lars Peter and Gustava Anderson, was born June 17, 1857, in Sweden. She was brought to the United States at 17 weeks of age, the family making the trip in a sailboat, spending 14 weeks at sea.

Arriving in this country, they came west, locating near Dubuque, where the daughter grew to young womanhood. She was married at Dubuque on April 6, 1874, to Sven Hanson.

Mr. and Mrs. Hanson came to Hamilton county, locating on a farm two miles east of Stanhope, where they lived until 1907, when they retired and moved to Stanhope. Mr. Hanson died in 1910. She was also preceded in death by two sons and two daughters.

She leaves the following children: Mrs. Olof Nelson and Mrs. Peter Hove of Stanhope, Mrs. Lois Sonerholm of Blue Earth, Minn., O. W. Hanson of Boone, A. O. Hanson of Albuquerque, N. M., and F. A. Hanson of Ft. Dodge.

Mrs. Hanson was a charter member of Our Savior's Lutheran church at Stanhope, and was a faithful member and worker as long as her health permitted.
