LAST RITES FOR MISS IDA IVERSON

Well Known Stanhope Music Teacher Died Saturday Following a Stroke.

Ida Louise Iverson, 54, music supervisor in the Centerville school, died at the Hamilton county hospital in Webster City Saturday morning, death being caused by complications which developed following a stroke of paralysis a month previous.

She had spent the summer at her home in Stanhope and was preparing to resume her teaching duties when she was stricken. She had been seriously ill four weeks.

Obituary

Miss Iverson was a daughter of Lewis and Ingeborg Iverson. She was born Dec. 10, 1887, on a farm near Stanhope known as the Iverson homestead. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church, being baptized and confirmed in that faith.

When she was seven years old her father died, and the following year the family moved into Stanhope. She was graduated from the Stanhope High school and from the Lutheran Normal school at Sioux Falls, S. D. She received her degree in music in Chicago, and since then had devoted her life to her profession.

Taught 17 Years

She taught 11 years in school at Harris, S. D., and six years in Centerville. She was successful in her work and was popular with the pupils.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister. She leaves to mourn her death two sisters, Belle and Eliza Iverson of Stanhope, and three brothers, Albert and John of Stanhope and Iver of Lake Bronson, Minn. There are several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sept. 29 for Ida Iverson, who passed away Sept. 27 at the Webster City hospital. Short services at the home consisted of: Solo, "I Know a Sleep in Jesus' Name," Mrs. E. J. Johnson; scripture reading and prayer, Rev. S. Dorr of Forest City; solo, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," Mrs. Cooper, a friend from Centerville. The main services were held in Our Savior's church at Stanhope and consisted of hymn by the congregation; scripture reading and sermon on the text, Romans 3:28, by Rev. S. Dorr and two hymns, sung by LeNora and Martha Tynning and Esther and Ruth Tjernagel of Story City. Pall bearers were nephews and cousins, Lowell, Clair, Harold and Robert Iverson, --oyd Iverson and Cleo Johnson. Ida was laid to rest in the family burial ground at Clear Lake cemetery. Floral tributes were many and beautiful and in memoriam $52 were contributed to Missions.
