OBITUARY

IVER STOUT

Iver Stout was born in Vikebygd, Norway, June 3, 1840. He immigrated to America as a young man in 1867, living for about two years in Illinois and then moving to Iowa where he resided the rest of his life.

In 1871 he was married to Julia Orland, and to this union three children were born, namely Swen, Lewis and John, who with their mother survive him.

After several years of failing health he passed away at their home in the east part of Story City where he had lived the past fourteen years since leaving his farm northwest of town. Death came to him Monday afternoon, April 5, when he lacked less than a month of being 86 years old.

Funeral services were held at the Bethel church, Revs. Paulsrud and Oppedal officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery of the St. Paul church, north of Rosendale, there to await the sound of the last trumpet, "when those who have died in the Lord shall be called forth."
