JEWELL WOMAN DIED

Mrs. James L. Johnson of near Jewell, passed away in Mercy hospital in Webster City, Saturday afternoon at 2;30 o'clock. She had been a patient in the hospital for the past four weeks during which time she had been gradually growing weaker.

The immediate members of her family are her husband and an infant daughter. Florence Bell, born Feb. 26. Her father, J. V. Chalma, of Jewell; a brother, Wm. Chalma, of Jewell, and three sisters, Mrs. Irvin Anderson of Sioux Rapids; Mrs. Perry Person, of near Ellsworth, and Miss Jennie Chalma, who is teaching at Anamosa.

Mrs. Johnson whose maiden name was Miss Belle Chalma, was 35 years old. April 22, 1923, she was united in marriage to Mr. Johnson and since that time they had made their home on a farm, six miles southwest of Jewell. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran church, northwest of Story City.

The bereaved husband and other members of the family will have the sympathy of the entire community in this untimely death of Mrs. Johnson.

Funeral services were held were held Tuesday at the home at 1 o'clock and in the St. Paul's Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, Rev. Hans Oppedal officiating.
