Death of Amund Olson

Amund Olson was born at Okland, Valestrand, Norway, July 12, 1862, and died at Randall, Ia., Nov. 4, 1925, at the age of 63 years, 3 months and 23 days.

In 1882 he came from Norway to Cambridge, Iowa. At this place he lived about 6 years. After spending a couple of years in Sioux and Wright counties, he settled near Randall. In 1902 he bought a farm 1 mile south and 1 mile west of Randall where he lived until a few days before he passed away when he moved into Randall.

January 26, 1889, he was united in marriage to Martha Brendeland of Cambridge, Iowa. To this union four children were born, Peder and Albert of Blue Earth, Minn., Matthew and Leo of Randall. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters, Mrs. Richard Brendeland of Huxley, Ia., Lars Olson and Mrs. O. Hovda of Roland, Ia., and Martin Olson of Greybull, Wis.

Mr. Olson was a kind husband and father and a good neighbor. He has for many years been an active member of Elim's church. God bless his memory. He was a faithful follower of his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Before he passed away he told his children to seek Jesus as their Saviour for he is a friend that will never forsake us in joy or sorrow, but is always ready to help and bless his children, and when this life in earth is ended he safely gathers them home to the joy of Heaven that has no end.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 9th, at the home at 1:30 and 2 o'clock at the Elim Lutheran church at Randall, conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud and Rev. Buland of Huxley.

The pall bearers were Jonas K. Johnson, Lewis Hauge, Peter Owenson, Tom Larson and Chris Johnson and burial was made in the Mount Olive cemetery.
