Obituary

Lewis Henry Knudson was born 2 1/2 miles southeast of Randall March 4, 1881, and died at the Lutheran Hospital at Hampton, Iowa, Oct. 17th, 1924, being 43 years and 7 months old at the time of his death.

His health had been failing for some time and finally he decided to undergo an operation, which was performed at the Lutheran Hospital at Hampton, Cot. 11th. He seemed to improve a little after his operation would result in death.

It was a hard blow to his dear mother, brothers and sisters, but especially so to his wife and four children. Lewis was a hard working man and always tenderly caring for his dear ones. He was a willing worker in the church.

Oct. 9th, 1909, he was united in marriage to Miss Annie Rasmussen. This marriage was blessed with four children, whose ages range from 7 to 14 years. Besides his wife and children he also leaves an old mother, five sisters and two brothers, namely, Mrs. Gerhard Ness of Story City, Mrs. John Marcus of Williams, Chas. Knudson of Rake, Mrs. Dan Knudson of Des Moines, Mrs. O. Tungesvik of Radcliffe, Theodore Knudson of Radcliffe and Miss Carrie Knudson of Radcliffe.

He was buried Oct. 21 from the North St. Petri church, his pastor, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiating. An unusually large crowd of people were present to pay him their last tribute. Interment was made in the East cemetery [Mamrelund Cemetery.]
